Mudroom Molding and Trim

David worked on the mudroom a little bit last night after the boys went to sleep.  He put up the crown molding, and some of the trim.  He decided that he wants to raise the horizontal piece a little bit, but other than that it’s looking more and more complete.

I feel like we have a million projects happening right now and I can’t keep them straight, but hopefully we will be able to be 100% with one room soon , maybe?! It will probably be the boys’ bathroom because we hired it out.  Sorry David!

Starting the Mudroom

A little while back, I mentioned that we had to clear out the mud room so that there was a place for our dog to stay in if we left the house. We were tired of cleaning up his pee around the house, so clearing out the mudroom was definitely a priority.

Although it was cleared out, it still isn’t completed. There was still flooring to be done, moldings to put up, oh and still the need to build a bench, cabinets, cubbies, a sink, etc just to name a few.

Last weekend, David finished the flooring and started putting up the baseboard, and trim. He also measured and designed the bench and cubbies. We are going for a simpler look but it’s going to be functional and clean looking! I can’t wait!

Happy Friday!

Major Progress

I finally have a major progress update! The painters are officially done, and all that our contractors have to do is the wallpaper in Eli’s room. It is so unbelievably refreshing to not have workers in our house all day.

The paint made all the difference in the world to this house. I am so beyond happy with it and can’t believe how fresh and bright it looks!  Now that it’s done, David can focus on his projects, and boy there are a lot. I am looking forward to focusing on one room at a time, and completing a room before we start another.  Next up, finishing our master closet! *We went with Benjamin Moore Gray Tint throughout the house and Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray on our front door and stairs

Stair and Entry Moldings

One thing I have always wanted in my homes was a grand entry way with beautiful moldings and a long staircase with a tall landing to see downstairs.  Unfortunately, our staircase kind of sucks.  It’s choppy and dark, and makes the house look and feel really small.  Oh well.  Since I couldn’t have the grand feeling like I wanted, David installed fabulous moldings to give it a little something something.  It looks beautiful and makes such a difference to the entry way.  The moldings are the first thing you see when you walk in and they definitely give that wow factor I hoped for.1dee3e0c-9aa2-4977-8479-1a8628ffdb9198005a9d-eca1-4949-9056-9475ea1d71434404b39c-1fb5-426a-9088-d45f7b57d5ef49133d93-c4d4-46ef-982d-cc6976d2e0180e46dbc8-441e-4e9b-a692-bde2a2296d1b34809ef1-bc15-4195-bb8d-7ddd1c61a44b

Trim and Moldings

Happy Monday! We are making so much progress on the master, and a little bit of progress on Eli’s room.  It is difficult since I am temporarily living in there, but we are doing our best to get it done.  I have a feeling Eli is closer to transitioning out of his crib than we hoped. We shall see!

I have a weird obsession with trim and moldings in a house so this is my favorite part of doing Eli’s room.  Maybe it’s because we have had so many different types in all of our homes, but for this house, we wanted to go simple and clean.  I think that the trim looks perfect against our new floors. David did a really good job installing them, but I am pretty sure he is relieved that the contractor will be installing them for the remainder of the house.DSC_0136DSC_0135DSC_0134DSC_0131DSC_0129DSC_0126I have yet to share the awesomeness that is Dax’s nursery but let me tell you, its freaking amazing in my opinion.  We did some fabulous moldings in there that we wanted to do in Eli’s room as well. David could seriously do moldings as a side gig now, he’s done Eli’s nursery/room about 3 times now and each time he gets better and better.518FB53C-2C17-46EC-AE35-4599F94EF3C9BC4BDA3D-C29F-4F6D-BF9E-0C2D6DF8B7441B7CCF4F-12C4-4566-A526-4B4DED3CEB40A72897DF-BDC5-411E-9E90-7320CC10C2007D50F929-8C89-44F5-A4D0-DD102818D35A4B675944-278A-4DBB-B185-7D34203A4E47Looks beautiful right? Once we are all moved out of Eli’s room after construction, we are going to install wallpaper on an accent wall.  I seriously am so excited! Stay tuned!B3F11D06-31E2-42B4-B8AD-9DDB36A5A7A3
