Hello hello! Dax and I are still trying to kick our colds and coughs but nothing seems to be helping. I’m really starting to wonder if we are constantly getting sick from all of the dust- although David’s healthy (knock on wood) and he’s inhaling much more dust than we are.
Anyway, our contractors didn’t show up yesterday, but apparently they will be finished with our house in two days. Still lots for David to do, but the freedom of having my house to myself during the day seems heavenly.
We had a little incident in the basement on Friday. I won’t go in to details, but let’s just say it involved our dog, his mouth, and a mouse. This freaked me out and disgusted me more than anything, so David agreed it was time for new carpet. We got a quote on Saturday and they installed it yesterday.
This is not something we planned on doing or budgeted for. In fact, we weren’t even going to touch the basement for a couple of years. But, since we knew we were getting new carpet, we decided we wanted to start completely fresh in there. We sold our giant movie theater chairs which creates so much more space. And even though David wanted to get rid of the pool table, I thought we should keep it. Especially since we have two boys who most likely will want it when they are teens! Since the chairs are gone, we quickly realized that we would have no place to sit. We promised ourselves we were done with IKEA, but who are we kidding? We ventured over there and pretty much purchased enough furniture to temporarily complete the basement until we want to buy better quality stuff. Once David has time he will be doing some IKEA hacks but until then, we will have a clean and organized basement. I can’t wait for it to be all set up!
It’s really hard to tell in the pics but the carpet is a really pretty gray
The new carpet is making me so excited to paint these blue walls. Yikes!
