Ok, so as you probably know, our bathroom was the first room that we renovated. This began in September and they finished in November, however they didn’t complete their punch list until December. No words can describe my love for our new master bathroom. Even though it is a lot smaller than I anticipated, and we decided against the gold hardware and finishes, it still is absolutely gorgeous.
If you are wondering why it has taken so long for me to post this reveal, it’s because David finished painting it last night. I talked about this before, but we were 100% set on using Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. We used it at Compass Pointe, and just assumed we would love it as much in this house. Before even sampling it in the bathroom, we told our contractor that was the color we wanted. So they painted the entire bathroom Repose Gray, and it ended up looking really beige. We tried to live with it for a few months and realized that we really needed to change the color. We decided to go with Gray Tint by Benjamin Moore. This is also the color we used throughout the entire house. The new paint makes such a difference, it’s crazy!
As much as I am loving the new paint, the floors are my favorite part of the bathroom. We went with zebra marble and they are definitely a statement floor. We went simple and clean with the mirrors, the light fixtures, and the faucets and shower head. I am really happy with the overall look and probably wouldn’t change a thing if I had to do it over again!
It’s been so nice walking and showering in a clean and pretty much brand new bathroom. I shockingly even have used the tub, so David is really happy about that because he didn’t want to put one in.
I was really hoping that I would have more progress to report today, but unfortunately you just get to read about pantry paint. Yippee!
Originally, the plan was to hire a painter to do the entire house. The contractors ended up painting the master bathroom and our kitchen, so that they could take pictures for their website. Since things are going a lot slower than we hoped, there are certain rooms that need to be painted immediately in order for them to get completed- specifically the master walk-in and the pantry. We can’t clear all of the rooms were our clothes are being stored until the closet is done, and we can’t get all of the food out of our kitchen, and the appliances out of the family room and dining room until the pantry is done. That being said, David had to paint the closet and pantry. The closet is just primed right now, but the pantry is pretty much done and ready for shelving and floors! We went with Benjamin Moore- Gray Tint and I think it looks great.Have a great weekend!!
First of all, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Our threenager made it difficult to fully enjoy ours, but the food was amazing.
We are in full on remodel mode now that the holiday is over. Apparently our house will be done in two weeks. Not sure I believe this, but fingers crossed I guess. Things are a little stressful as we have people working on every floor in the house. No place to hide! Our room still isn’t complete which is a little frustrating. No, that’s a lie, it’s really frustrating, but I keep telling myself it will all be worth it. At least I am able to shower in my new bathroom, and let me tell you, it is amazing.
Since the bathroom is about 98% complete, and the floors in our room are also about 98% complete, our contractor agreed that it was a good idea for David to start painting our bedroom.
I think I talked about my love for Repose Gray before, but if not, let me recap. I love Repose Gray. We used it in our last house and it was amazing. Unfortunately the natural light in this house isn’t great, so Repose just doesn’t work.
We decided on Benjamin Moore Gray Tint for our master bedroom. It is not too light not too dark and it is the perfect shade of gray with our lighting. I am loving the paint and we are just one step closer to the master being completed! Since my family was here last week, we did move our mattress into our room, so we have been sleeping there and it’s a complete mess with all of the paint supplies and not having our closet finished.
Our goal, or my goal, is to start really moving in this week and be officially moved in by next weekend. We finally ordered our window treatments, our light, some bathroom accessories, sheets, towels, etc. I don’t want to show it off until it looks complete, although with us nothing is ever complete because I am constantly changing my style and my mind on how I want things. Poor David!
