Oh hey, remember the mudroom? While our contractor and his crew are working on the bathroom, David is working on the mudroom when he gets home from his real job. I showed you the molding and trim progress a couple of weeks ago, but since then, David installed some cabinets for storage.
Since this room used to be the laundry room, there is a big bulky gas line. We thought that it would be pricey and annoying to remove, so we figured that covering it was our best option. At first, we were going to install a single cabinet and sink, but the more we thought about it, the more we realized that would look a little weird. We decided to do a row of cabinets instead, because you can never have enough storage and it looks much better than a single cabinet.
The built-ins unit is white, so we went with a light gray cabinet. I am wondering if the gray walls are a bit much now, but at least painting the walls is an easy fix. Once the painters come to paint the built-in, they can always repaint the walls as well.
This room is really coming along! The thought of not having all of our junk piled up on our kitchen island because it will finally have a place in the mudroom feels so so good!
