Artwork

I brought in an interior designer to help me tie up loose ends in terms of furniture we couldn’t decide on, furniture placement, and just other random details of the house. There is an area in our kitchen and I just couldn’t figure out what to do with the empty space.  The designer suggested that we didn’t put anything there except for either one giant piece of artwork, or three big pieces.  I am really bad at choosing art, and I am super indecisive once I find things I like.

After what feels like searching for months, I finally found an artist I am obsessed with on Etsy.  The prices didn’t seem awful, and they do custom work.  I have specific colors I want to use, so I reached out to the artist about potentially doing three custom pieces or one giant piece for us.  I got back a quote for almost $2000.00!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?! Is this normal?! I have no idea since I haven’t really ever purchased art, but to me this seems like a ton of money for one wall.  Am I being unreasonable? Crazy? Help!!

Anyway, we obviously decided not to go forward with this artist, so I am on the hunt for another.  Any recs? In the mean time, after a lovely knee injury, Eli’s adorable table and chairs are now in the kitchen.  I thought it was a good idea for him to eat on it, but that just makes things more accessible for the dog.  So, he will use it to color and draw instead of use his iPad while I am in the kitchen.

We have a busy weekend coming up, but I still am hopefully we will get some stuff done around this house.  Closet? Closet anyone?
