Drywall and Prime

A little while ago I shared the project that David and my dad were working on upstairs. We removed the railing and built a half-wall on top of the stairs.  I personally like how it looks more, and it is 1928730473847x safer for our wild toddler.

David spent a few hours mudding the wall since it wasn’t the smoothest, and our contractor offered to help finish it off.  I think that was their way of saying they didn’t like David’s work, but I could be wrong (I’m probably not though hah).  Anyway, the wall looks great now and David went ahead and primed it this weekend, along with some of the hallway.  Even with primer, the hallway looks so much brighter and cleaner. I know I mentioned this before, but I just don’t understand how mustard yellow, and bright blue walls does any house any favors.  Covering this all up has been such a disaster, but it makes us appreciate this process that much more.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I am so happy to leave 2017 behind.  It was such an eventful year.  From being pregnant and living in MN alone while David lived here in Chicago, to driving and moving to Chicago at 35 weeks pregnant. Going into labor almost 2 weeks early…on the day we had to close on our new house.  Finding out I needed surgery, getting inconclusive results, being told I might need another surgery and possibly might have something scary going on- just to be told false alarm! Starting a complete renovation on our new house, and the list goes on! This picture is from last New Years when we decided to announce we were pregnant again.  Eli had zero idea what was going on since he was newly two, but I love to look at this and look at how much he has changed since then. Anyway, all I want is to be happy, healthy, and settled this year, not too much to hope for right?!
